Pictures from Christmas

4 01 2009

This Christmas play-by-play is mostly for the grandparents. Don’t feel obligated to look at them all.

Santa’s Little Helper woke up really grumpy Christmas morning. Luckily she hammed it up for the camera.

Here are the big kids lining up on the stairs. This is a tradition in my family, along with getting dressed before opening presents. We separated from that tradition this year. (Sorry, Mom and Dad. No offense intended.)

Here are the kids looking at their gifts from Santa. (That on the end is my spot. Are you trying to tell me something,  Santa?)

dsc_0031

Zack got a remote-controlled, goofy-joke-telling robot. Heaven.

This is Stan taking out the contents of his stocking. Check out his smile: exactly the same in each picture.

Coldplay DVD! (Not a surprise.)

dsc_0033

New socks! (Not a surprise.)

dsc_0034

Andes mints! (Not a surprise.)

dsc_0041

This is what I was waiting for. BSU sweatbands.

dsc_0045

His Christmas surprise. GO BRONCOS!

dsc_0046

Colby didn’t really care about the toys. He just went around eating everybody’s Smarties.

dsc_0050

I put him on his new riding toy. “See? You like this.” “Whatever, Mom.” (He’s still holding his Smarties.)

dsc_00551

Stan, rocking out on his high school electric guitar. Why now? Because he finally got . . .

dsc_0058

. . . an amp. (Nope. Not a surprise.)

dsc_0063

Nice mittens.

dsc_0062

But, wait! They’re gloves, too! GLITTENS. I am happy.

dsc_0065

Eden and I both got new hats.

Every year, we have a sleeper present: one that ends up being much more favored than we thought. Last year, it was Zack’s gyroscope. This year:

Rainbow’s sparkly shoes.

dsc_0079

She has hardly worn any other footwear since Christmas.

dsc_0081

Zack was so excited about his new magic set from Grandma and Grandpa, he tried to open it with his teeth.

dsc_0087

Ahh, the gamer girl is happy with I-Spy.

Because of the weather, a bunch of stuff was delayed until the day after Christmas. (I’m still a little miffed I paid extra for 2nd day air, but I’m sure I’ll get over it. Someday.) Eden got a Just Like Me American Girl doll, duly named “Rebecca”.

The tree has seen better days.

My brother, always striving to up our classiness quota, sent us this ornament.

Colby loves to play with the girls’ dollhouse. Anything that opens and closes, he likes. He’ll sit behind the house and open and close the doors for quite awhile.

dsc_0156

Cute, much?

And here’s a shot of Stan. These last six pictures I took with Stan’s belated Christmas gift: a new lens for the camera. It was a surprise.

(Wait. Who was that present for, again?)
