Enjoying summertime

20 08 2010

I haven’t blogged much this month. I took my kids to Idaho, and it was wonderful. Every mile we drove I soaked it in–the long stretches of sagebrush, the winding rivers, the forests, the mountain ranges, the peaceful valleys, the small towns, the water towers, the farms, the clouds, the sky, the stars–all of it seeped into my pores like lotion into crusty elbows.

I don’t know if it really is the best state, or if I just think so because it’s my home state.

Either way, I love it.

Truly, it’s a magical place.

(However, if word gets out about how cool Idaho is, people will start visiting and then there will be lines and crowds. Like Disneyland. Ugh. So let’s just make this our little secret, hmm?)

Besides, one of the things I find so refreshing about visiting Idaho is the people.

(I totally have a crush on this boy.)

If you don’t know them, I’m sorry for you. Also, Idaho may not be quite as magical for you. Whomever you are, though, I hope you have people like these to hug you, eat with you, cry with you, and make you laugh until you can’t stop. Suite! Oh, no, I meant suit. I wish there really was an inverted rainbow to travel through so we could get together more often.

Two more weeks of summer!

Ha! I was laughing all over again as I read your post. It was so great to see you. Please come back to Idaho soon…it’s even better when you are here.

I don’t know so much about ID… but I do love your photos! I love your viewpoint and the sky of the temple picture, and the reflections in the water and the “LOVE” picture. I’m surprised you convince all the kids to stay still long enough for the pic!
